Vitamin B3 is a water-soluble vitamin and is essential for poultry. It is a major part of the enzyme system required for the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Vitamin B3, or niacin, refers to two vitamin forms: nicotinamide and nicotinic acid. Niacin is a component of the coenzymes nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP). The body can convert the essential amino acid tryptophan into niacin, and vitamins B2 and B6 are required for this process. When the body faces a tryptophan deficiency, this vitamin can be converted to tryptophan.
Niacin deficiency is characterized by severe metabolic disorders affecting the skin and the digestive system. Early signs usually include loss of appetite, reduced growth, general weakness, diarrhea, and neurological disorders. In egg production, feeding a low-niacin diet can also lead to a significant reduction in hatchability. After evaluating products from leading global manufacturers, Arian Roshd Afza selected one of the highest-quality nicotinamide products available and proceeded with its import. In addition to its key role as a feed additive influencing growth and bird metabolism, it also has medicinal applications and can be effective in managing various metabolic disorders.
Nicotinamide (chemical name: 3-Pyridinecarboxamide) is manufactured by Redpont (China) and has a purity of 99%.
